For over 40 years, Pat Alonzo and family have been providing musical instruments, sound equipment and music gear to local and area musicians. Pat's first store was started in 1964 on Colborne Street in Brantford Ontario. Prior to that, as a grade 9 high school student, Pat taught accordion to between 80 and 100 students weekly after school in a studio at his parent's home. By grade 10 he decided to rent a store front and open his first retail location on Colborne Street where the store developed until 1968.

Pat Alonzo Music (later to be known as LA Music) then moved to Cainsville at the eastern end of Brantford Ontario where the store continued for the next 20 years. In 1987 after learning he would have to vacate his Cainsville store as the property was now included in a declared landslide risk zone with the nearby river banks eroding, Pat moved the newly named LA Music to the current location at 139 Charing Cross St in Brantford, Ontario. In 2005 the store expanded to double it's size to meet the ever increasing demand for more gear and a larger showroom.

LA Music was family operated right from the beginning. Today family members still share the all business duties that have grown with the store to include an impressive selection of musical instruments, amplification, sheet music, accessories, a rental department and a service department. With son Chris handling the rental and repair duties along with merchandising, store design, shipping and receiving, daughter Angel and wife Marilyn taking care of sheet music and office administration, Pat continues to serve his friends/customers with decades of experience and a wry sense of humour that makes doing business at LA Music an ongoing positive experience.
